Fall of the Ancients

Fall of the Ancients is a web series about the realities of industrial old-growth logging in British Columbia and the myriad of environmental and social movements surrounding it.
This film seeks to understand all sides of the old-growth logging debate by following three characters on the front lines of the ancient forest industry. The first subject will be an indigenous land defender at Fairy Creek, the second will be a forestry student or timber cruiser who inspects future logging sites on Vancouver Island or the Sunshine Coast, and the third will be a tree planter working on an old-growth reforestation site.
We are currently seeking $15,000 in development funding. These funds will support research into old-growth logging practices, as well as the relationship to the Fairy Creek protests and Landback movement. It will also support test filming this summer as the production team goes into the field to find the film’s cast of characters.
